Parking:Plenty of parking is available at Newhall Community Park.
Packet Pick Up: All participants must pick up their race packet prior to the start of the race at the registration desk. Please be there at 8:00 A.M. and present your Confirmation Ticket or Confirmation E-mail along with a photo ID to receive your Participant Race Packet. Runners can register until the race begins at 9 A.M.
Numbers and Chips: At packet pickup, you will be given a bib with a race number, race packet, timing chip and shirt. The bib must be pinned to the front of your shirt. There will be safety pins for you to use. Timing tags are attached to the bibs. Please do not remove or fold. If you are picking up a packet for someone who is not running, please give us the chip back.
Starting: The 5K will start at 9:00 AM. We will start on time, so don’t be late.
Gathering: All runners have to gather near the Picnic Area grass area.
Timing: This event is chip timed which means your race time begins when you cross the start line and ends when you cross the finish line. For this reason, you do not need to crowd the starting line trying to be the first person to take off.
Participants should line up at the start line in the following order –
1) participants that can complete the 5K race in less than 30 minutes
2) participants that plan to run the entire length of the course
3) participants that plan to walk, including families with young children
4) participants with strollers
- The race course map must be reviewed prior to the start of the race https://race4life.us/race-course-information/
- Volunteers will man select intersections for safety, but it is the participant’s responsibility to be aware of traffic.
- The course will be marked for turns, and mile markers. If you do not see an arrow, do not turn.
Abandonment: All personal equipment and belongings taken on the course must stay on the athlete the entire time. No garbage, clothing, etc. shall be thrown on the course.
Finishing: The race will finish near the start line in the Seven Limbs Picnic Area. The finish line will be marked by a large black FINISH banner. Be sure to run across the timing mat at the arch to end your official time. We will need to get back your timing chip once you have caught your breath.
Awards: Everyone is invited to stay for a brief awards ceremony. We anticipate beginning the ceremony around 10.15 A.M.
Refreshments: Refreshments will be available for all participants following the event. The location will be at the Seven Limbs Picnic Area.
Safety: For your safety and those of other participants, other than strollers no other equipment is allowed on the course. Pets are not allowed on the course. Please be mindful of other participants on the course, especially when overtaking.
Spread the Word: Let your friends and family know about this great event, and encourage them to run for a good cause. They can register online, but if they can’t get to it they can register at the race site on the day of the event.
